Architectural description
Torre de la iglesia de San Pedro Teruel
Outside, the walls are articulated and decorated with bricks highlighted on the background, generating abstract compositions. Horizontal friezes and two superimposed series of intersecting semicircular arches predominate. You can also see glazed ceramics designed and made specifically to apply in architecture.
Next to the tower is the mausoleum of the lovers of Teruel, Isabel and Diego. Their mummies were discovered in 1555 in the basement of one of the side chapels of the church of San Pedro. Since then, the history of these lovers has crossed borders, becoming a symbol of romantic love, sung by literature, music, dance and has become part of the cultural heritage.
